NHFCS Announces Preseason Developments 2013

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                                          JULY 27th, 2013

NHFCS ANNOUNCES PRESEASON DEVELOPMENTS
FOR THE 2013 FOOTBALL SEASON

With the start of the 2013 Season rapidly approaching, the National Homeschool Football Championship Series (NHFCS) is pleased to announce the development of several exciting new forms of team & athlete recognition. Beginning this fall, the NHFCS is introducing both a National Preseason Top 25 Ranking and a National Preseason All-American Team.

For the NHFCS to do this, we need the help of our teams & Coaches. The NHFCS is encouraging all teams to upload & post their rosters and schedules to MaxPreps by no later than August 26, 2013 for consideration in the National Preseason Top 25 & Preseason All-American Team.

While the information for Preseason Rankings & All-American is important, the NHFCS wants to also remind Coaches to keep their Team's information & stats up-to-date throughout the season for consideration of National & Regional Post-Season Awards. At the close of the 2013 Season, the NHFCS will once again declare the National Champions for both Division One (11 Man) & Division Two (6/8 Man) football but this year... the excitement grows with multiple new awards to recognize excellence in Homeschool athletics!

With the close of the season, the NHFCS will be announcing First & Second Team All-American selections for Division One and First Team All-American for Division Two, with the possibility of adding a Second Team selection based on interest. We will also be announcing for the first time, several Regional Championships in both Divisions based on the same ranking structure used to determine the National Championships. To top it all off, we will also be declaring a National Player of the Year and a National Coach of the Year for both Divisions.

To help bring a bigger spotlight on the sport, the NHFCS will be doing Press Releases through the Office of Publications & Media Relations for those teams mentioned in both our rankings & awards program. We are encouraging Coaches that wish to have specific media outlet as their designated media partner to contact the Director of Publications/Media Relations, Jerome Davis, so that stories sent to various markets reach their targeted audience. Otherwise, the major outlet in each market that is home to a Homeschool team will be our point of contact.
